Neousys Technology today announced the latest GPU computing platform, Nuvo-7160GC, a ruggedized embedded computer supporting an NVIDIA® GPU up to 120W, Intel® 8th-Gen Core™ i Processor and a choice of M.2 NVMe SSD or Intel® Optane™ memory for traditional hard drive acceleration. It is designed for modern machine learning applications such as autonomous driving, facial recognition and machine vision.
GPU-aided computers offer significantly more processing power with greater number of parallel processes over traditional CPU computing. The NVIDIA GPU in Nuvo-7160GC can deliver up to 4~6 TFLOPS (x2 the performance of previous Neousys GPU platform) while the CPU offers up to an extra 50% computational performance gains over the previous generation platform.
In addition, Nuvo-7160GC utilizes patented cassette and ingenious ventilation mechanism to effectively dissipate the heat generated by the graphics card. It has superior thermal reliability, capable of operating from as low as -25°C (cold boot) to +60°C (100% loading) and it also comes with a dependable power design allowing DC power input from 8 to 35 VDC.
Connectivity wise, Nuvo-7160GC incorporates rich I/O functions such as USB 3.1 Gen2/ Gen1, GbE, COM into a compact footprint measuring just 240 x 225 x 111 mm. The plethora of onboard I/O ports are shielded from ESD and power surges by sophisticated protection circuits.
