Autonomous Public Transport

With the development of private autonomous vehicles, the application of autonomous-driving technologies is destined to expand to other forms of vehicles on the road. The future of public transport consolidates multiple application technologies to offer convenience, security and green living. The autonomous driver-less component is no stranger to most of us. With 2D/ 3D perception sensors and maps complementing one another, it allows the bus to navigate through traffic/ objects without fuss and arrive at each stop with accurate time-stamp.

Utilizing near-field/ long-range radars and sonars with visual sensors, the vehicle is able to detect obstacles near and far to assist the bus moving safely from standstill. Another collision avoidance technology utilized is the vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) infrastructure. Through constant communication and global positioning system (GPS) ensures the accurate positioning of each vehicle reporting real time speed, route and destination.

Electric motors complete the chassis giving off zero emissions while in motion. It is an ideal mass volume transportation vehicle for the already-dense populated cities around the globe. The internal cabin monitoring offers safety to passengers in case of emergencies. The system is able to pick out passengers in distress or threat in the cabin and automatically dial for emergency services.

All of the applications described above demands a strong, reliable and capable controller that can digest data from all subsystems while allowing each component to interact and complement one another throughout the course of the journey on the vehicle. Our customers’ application requirement is to set a reliable and powerful GPU-aided vehicle dedicated computer to oversee all subsystems on the autonomous mass transportation vehicle.

Role of Neousys System

The Neousys system acts as the central controller and has integrated wireless communication module, 2/ 3D visual perception sensors, GPS module, CAN bus, radar and sonar. Most of all, the Cassette module is able to offer application dedicated function expansion needs. In this case, a power GPU card to aide in inference tasks for autonomy. In addition, the add-on MezIOTM module allows for function-specific expansion card(s) to be added. The powerful single unit central controller significantly simplifies the overall system infrastructure, making it an efficient and cost-effective solution.
